Ajit
Bhawan palace was built exclusively for
Maharajadhiraj Sir Ajit Singh, the younger
brother of Maharaja Umaid Singh of the Jodhpur
state. This oasis of hospitality, pageantry
and Rajput charm is the first palatial building
to be converted into a heritage hotel in
India.
Today
with its arched windows, carved balconies
and cupolas, Ajit Bhawan Palace makes the
perfect venue to celebrate the romance of
erstwhile Jodhpur.
The
biggest draw in the building is the courtyard-a
quadrangle with exquisitely carved latticework.
It comes to live during meal times when
Rajasthani delicacies are served by turbaned
men and veiled women and soothing folk music
permeates the surrounding air. Your wedding
ceremony in such a delightful ambience will
be an event which can only be matched with
that of the princes.
Accommodations
at Ajit Bhawan Palace are in the form of
well appointed spacious rooms and divine
little villas spread out in the peaceful
gardens. All cottages are furnished in ethnic
Rajasthani style with each having a distinct
charm of its own.
