A wedding for 400 people, organised within 5 months, where the bride and groom have absolutely no idea what they want…It started with Dubai and landed up in Phuket :)..With so many complications with elders in the family somehow Neeti and her team managed to turn this almost nightmare scenario into a fun filled adventure of planning, and ultimately to the best day of our lives (and “the best wedding ever” according to our guests).

I am delighted to have this opportunity to recommend Neeti Bhargava, the planner/organizer of my wedding, which took place from February 20th-21st, 2009 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. I believe my sister and I did enough research on wedding planners before signing Neeti to be able to confidently rank her as among the very best wedding planners available in India today.

Neeti was by far the most pro-active, efficient and prompt of all the wedding planners we were in preliminary talks with eight months before the wedding took place.  After she was signed on, Neeti made three trips to Bombay, at her own expense, to discuss all the various wedding details with us.  She subsequently made several trips to Jodhpur, again at her own expense, to sign up with the local vendors we used during the two-day celebrations and to liase with Umaid Bhawan, Taj Hari Mahal and Khimsar Fort on our behalf.  Neeti spared no effort in ensuring that everything was organized to the very last detail – I find her professionalism and need for perfection a rarity in India. While Neeti’s negotiation skills with vendors are good and she does her utmost to bring prices down, she is very effective at doing so on a small/local vendor level (like with the Chuudi-wallahs, Kacchi Ghodi wallahs, and Safa-wallahs we hired). I would advise you to be a part of the negotiations with the hotel chains and larger vendors because they tend not to back down unless forced to do so by the paying party.

While Neeti offers a comprehensive service which includes invitations, a wedding website etc. we found her most useful when actually on the ground, executing the ‘show’. Her biggest strength lies in her ability to execute plans almost flawlessly in a chaotic environment where everyone around her is on edge and nerves are frayed. You can rely on Neeti to pacify and reassure even the most irate amongst you and get things back on track. In my wedding video, I see her always in the background, subtly working away and making sure everything’s going smoothly and that everyone’s having a good time.

Everything beat all of our guests’ high expectations and was by far the most exhilarating experience of my life. Even today, four months later, my friends’ and relatives’ eyes convey their awe as they talk of the two days in Jodhpur as the “best wedding” they’ve ever attended. Much could have gone wrong and instead went smoothly thanks to Neeti. She saved us a huge amount of time and effort, but most importantly, knowing she was there to handle everything gave us what I consider to be crucial at such occasions - peace of mind.
